Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a wide array of personalities, and a exciting storyline including angels, evil spirits, and malevolent powers increasing in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Key plot points for the third episode of this adventure follow below.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The latest chapter ended with a dramatic pause and revealed the first table of characters who will split off from the primary party to begin their separate journey, distinct from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (played by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Given a large ensemble, it was evident from the beginning that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
Hence, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Overture, connecting the characters’ stories before splitting into three separate parties: Warriors, Schemers, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
According to the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for participants who are drawn to a typically action-packed fight-heavy story mode where peaceful solutions are rare.
Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might seem mismatched, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the team understands precisely where to head next after a violent first encounter with the antagonists.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose death started the narrative’s action—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, invading the secret base, attacking the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to auction.
The antagonist then cleared his liabilities and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, above the urban center, with Cyd close behind.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each adventurer has a individual motive to depart the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the close ally and best friend, seeks retribution.
- The adventurer is familiar with Timmony and advises that it is a dangerous location.
- The strong character and The cleric, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to execute the target and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- However, their status as prominent individuals in the influential clan could help the group enter locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his salvation and will now accompany him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the rulers that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The rogue and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and Wicander turned against the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the clan.
This means them few options but to head to the remote area in search of the antagonist.
